The story of one and a half arm Erik.

On a christmas day, brother and sisters, nephews and cousins, are all reunited to celebrate in a large and confortable house. Sitting in the center of the main room, a blue cradle surrounded with seven women talking simultunaneously. The whole day and night, that little basket is never alone, of course inside is a baby. His name is Erik, he is one year old. He is the youngest of all those humans. The only one consider as "baby". All he sees all day is people coming at him, looking tender and moved by him. They usually talk in a weird language made of sharp sounds and touch him carefully with their huge hands, the bravest ask the mum if they can hold him. Everyone adds a compliment, "he's so cute", "oh what a wonderful baby", "he looks just like his mother", "look at those eyes", "ohhhh, this one looks like he's going to be as successful as his daddy" and so on.
Nothing strange, one could think, well, maybe not, but Erik was born with a right arm and only half of his left arm, and a short stump after his elbow.
They look at him like they look at the world, with blind optimism and Hypocrisy. Every one saw it but, no one said anything about this little stump he waves at them when he moves. They probably all pretend it doesn't exist or it's not a big deal. They don't want to hurt any feelings, like the parents didn't notice that detail. Better not tell than face the truth. Better see the half full glass than the half empty glass. Right?
What if anyone said "oh that poor thing, he will never know the feeling of a real hug" "oh no, is it possible to have an implant at young age maybe?" "is he right handed at least?" "Do women love or marry men with such handicaps?" "how is you balance with only one and a half arm? can you skate  with this?" the questions everyone had in mind but no one ask. What would it be like if people were being completely honnest? If there was only one person who said anything, he would be rejected by the others, he'd be the one who tells the truth, disturbs the whole bunch and spread bad mood.

One and a half arm Erik will live with this handicap, he will even probably live a very long and happy life.
This is what make one and a half arm Erik different than the world.
