Bosnia.
3 kids are standing in front of a ruin, full of bullet impacts, it's a gymnasium.it doesn't look like it's in fonction at all. In front of this building, another big business building is completely ruined. No money to rebuild it, no money to demolish it. it stands thee, nobody notice it anymore. It starts raining, streets are almost empty, there is not too much cars in the streets. Of course, one liter of gaz is 1 euro...and for an example a pack of cigarette is 75cts. I started to feel bad when nobody could give me the change in any shop on the equivalent of a 25 euros bill. I'm not necessarly proud of that sudden currency power, neither am I of my fancy room on the most beautiful place in Mostar.
The situation here is not really well known. Sarajevo, Mostar, the names sounds fačiliar to me because i heard them so much when i was younger. Tv reports, papers, now i can feel the war here. I cant imagine what it was at the time, I felt it in croatia 4 years ago, last week when i visited it again, it was completely different. Everything was rebuilt. Tourism hleped the country to come up, but for how many sacrifices...you can see it and feel it on every individual.
Streets full of english tourists. 2 days ago we got attacked and beat up by some nationalist yougsters. I can't even be angry at them.
Bosnia, for a few more days, desolation landscape, the smell of war is still there. It seems cheesy to say this, but that's really what i felt when i walked around, shooting all this now, because i know I'll come back in # years and it will be all gone. Buildings and everything probably rebuilt with the help of some foreign investors. I didn't see many promotionnal banners or posters, no brands, nothing...just huge posters of some political campaigns...everywhere.
Politics over brand market. Soon it will change. For now on I cross this country with my spoiled eyes wide open.

On the coast road to Dubrovnik, windows open, smell of the sea and dark road.
The Andrew sisters sing bye bye to Dalmatia...
